Orange Cyberdefense and Mistral AI's partnership marks the convergence of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. Within the Design Partner program led by Mistral AI, Orange Cyberdefense is the first european MSSP to take the lead in augmented cybersecurity solutions.
Faced with increasingly industrialized and sophisticated attacks, Orange Cyberdefense has swiftly integrated AI into its operational model, its proprietary cyber threat intelligence (CTI) and its range of cutting edge security services. As early as April 2025, the integration and then gradual deployment of the Qevlar AI solution within its operational detection centers (SOCs) marked a first step toward an AI augmented cybersecurity. This commitment is now entering its second phase through a second partnership with Mistral AI.
Launched in early October, Mistral Large 4 – aka "the Chonk" - is a powerful language model, now at the core of Mistral AI’s Design Partner program. As the first European MSSP player within the project, Orange Cyberdefense will be able to leverage the capabilities of this cutting-edge multimodal model to raise the bar of AI augmented cybersecurity.
The capabilities of Mistral Large 4 will be gradually integrated into Orange Cyberdefense’s first in class cybersecurity services:
By partnering with Mistral AI, a european leader in artificial intelligence, Orange Cyberdefense takes the best of its cybersecurity expertise into the age of frontier AI models. The Mistral Large 4 model is an in-house product developed by Mistral AI, whose own data centers are located in Europe. Orange Cyberdefense will rely on these computing capabilities to run its dedicated models for cybersecurity operations.
This alliance between Orange Cyberdefense and Mistral AI reinforces the foundation of a cybersecurity enhanced by a trustworthy AI, says Anis Trabelsi, Head of Innovation and AI at Orange Cyberdefense.
Having a European led technology and environment on board is a guarantee of sovereignty for organizations wishing to use AI in sensitive contexts and complying as well with regulatory requirements.
This opportunity marks a new step to build a safer digital society using trusted and AI-enhanced cybersecurity.
