Orange Cyberdefense reinforces its Europe ambitions as SCRT and Telsys become Orange Cyberdefense in Switzerland

Morges, September 14th 2023

  • The Swiss companies, SCRT and Telsys, acquired by Orange Cyberdefense in 2022, are rebranded to Orange Cyberdefense Switzerland
  • The move reinforces Orange Cyberdefense's ambition to become the market leader in cybersecurity in Switzerland (+20% in the first semester 2023) and more widely in Europe by 2027
  • In particular, it will draw on the combined expertise of SCRT (Ethical Hacking, incident response, managed services and consultancy), Telsys (infrastructure, network, datacenter and cloud, etc.) and Orange Cyberdefense (24x7 operational capabilities, managed services and global knowledge of the threat)

Orange Cyberdefense, one of Europe's leading providers of cybersecurity services, is accelerating the deployment of its cybersecurity activities in Switzerland following the acquisition of SCRT and Telsys last November. These two sister companies, which are headquartered in Morges (VD) and have around 100 experts in cybersecurity and related services based in Morges, Geneva, Berne and Zurich, have today been rebranded to Orange Cyberdefense.

Orange Cyberdefense has to date acquired and integrated four new companies in the space of four years, reinforcing its ambitions of becoming the number one player in Europe by 2027. In a market that grew by 9% in Europe, the organisation ended its last financial year with 14% growth in all its activities worldwide, to reach sales of €977 million. More broadly, its revenues have increased fivefold over the last eight years.

Switzerland, Europe's 7th largest cyber market

The integration of both companies under the Orange Cyberdefense brand will enable it to take full advantage of the increasingly crucial complementarities between cloud and cybersecurity expertise. In Switzerland, Orange Cyberdefense will expand its portfolio of secured cloud offerings by providing customers with comprehensive support to businesses and public authorities and fortify its skills in back-up and recovery. Conversely, customers will benefit from a level of security by design to the highest market standards, with services and knowledge of the threat landscape strengthened by the experience and international presence of Orange Cyberdefense.

The deployment of these offers is aimed at all businesses and administrations in French- and German-speaking regions of Switzerland, particularly focusing on the financial services sector, which has seen an 11% increase in cyber extortion worldwide this year.

Thanks to synergies with Orange Business, Orange Cyberdefense will be able to support multinational companies and international organisations in every corner of the globe. The results of this new organisation are already being seen, with growth of almost 20% in cybersecurity activities in the first semester, recording revenues of 25 million Swiss francs (CHF) in the Swiss market.

Orange Cyberdefense's recruitment policy, which aims to build the largest cyber community in Europe, will also be gradually rolled out in Switzerland to strengthen the capacity of its teams to meet the multiple and growing needs of its customers.

"In a cybersecurity market that is undergoing a period of concentration, our ambition is to expand internationally in order to become the leader in Europe by 2027. I am therefore delighted to welcome the SCRT and Telsys teams under the Orange Cyberdefense brand, whose values of excellence, proximity, ethics and trust we share. Together, Orange Cyberdefense now has the largest ethical hacking team in Europe, with more than 220 experts. This is a wealth of talent pooling their expertise to make the digital world safer," explains Hugues Foulon, CEO of Orange Cyberdefense.

"The integration of SCRT and Telsys by Orange Cyberdefense, a European leader in cybersecurity, is a new milestone in our company’s history, of which I’m proud. We are seizing this opportunity, through our shared values, to extend our capacity to prevent, detect and analyse the threat in order to better counter it, and to strengthen our cyber and infrastructure services while developing our activities and services throughout Switzerland," emphasises Nicolas Lutz, Managing Director of Orange Cyberdefense Switzerland since January 2023.
