Traditionally, CISOs focused on keeping malevolent actors out and the lights on. But the role of the CISO is fast evolving: they must develop soft skills to drive strategy through the Board and every level of the organization.

Gartner predicts that at least 50% of C‑level executives will have performance requirements related to cybersecurity risk built into their employment contracts by 2026. CISOs need to ensure business leaders have the capabilities and knowledge to make informed information risk decisions.
